    BOOKS BY LARRY FANNING

      My first binding was a   journal, similar to the one used in the movie " Dances With Wolves". It contains approx: 100 pages of blank parchment paper, bound by tanned buffalo hide, and close-tied with a narrow strip of the same leather. The durability of the buffalo hide allows it to be carried on every journey; from a " spur-of-the-moment" sketch of the first robin of spring, to listing each wild life encounter you have as you hike across Yellowstone, or noting that thought which may be the solution to that nagging problem at work, jotting down the lyrics to the song you can't ever remember, or, just keeping track of expences and assignments......And that same durability is what makes it look better ...with age.

       Also, when the pages are filled, they can be filed away, and easily replaced at your local office supply.

       This journal could log a lifetime of events, thoughts, poems, contacts, sketches,

  or .........

     My first published book

     was "Broken Promises",

         finished in 2005.

  Between 1784 and 1961, our government coujured 377 

 " treaties of peace " with most all of the 254 recognized tribes of Native Aerican  Indians of North  America. These treaties were devised to "hood-wink the people out  of their land, and the gold that was on it.

     Twenty-five of those treaties, the people who were misled and destroyed by them, and the government officials who aurthored them 

 are explored in " Broken

  Promises ".

    My second published book

  " Echos and Spirits ", of

    those who wer there,

    was finished in 2007.

       It tells of the culture,

  belief, spiritualism, and  diginity that caused the 

 people of the plains to live

 in harmony with one another ,

 and all other biengs on

 Grandmother Earth.

        My third published book

 " The Wild Ones " , outlaws,

 lawmen, warriors, and lewd 

 women, was finished in 2009.

         It tells the life stories of

 hard people, in hard times.

   It expolres thier love, their  

  hatred, their joy, and their

 fear of the lifetime in which

  only the strong survived.

      The fourth book " The

  Wild Ones II "  mad men and

  machine guns , is currently a

 work-in-progress, and is

 hoped to be published, 2011.

        This book will be a

  sequal to "The Wild Ones" , 

  and continue the plight of  desperate people , and the 

 measures they took while

 creating the darker side of 

 American History.
